(Nowadays, art history textbooks have a tendency to cut out church history and somewhat demonize western art, and this class will be taught from a Christian perspective.)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCourse description: \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis class is an overview of the history of art spanning from the cave paintings all the way through the midpoint of art history. We will spend 1-2 weeks in each era.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAssignment expectations:\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBasic essay writing will be a component of this class. (Out-of-class research will be required.) Over the course of twelve weeks, students will complete three or four 2- or 3-paragraph essays, with the final essay focusing on a topic of interest.
