This highly interactive workshop will take you on a journey through some of the world's most useful brainstorming methods. Each class will highlight a different method, allowing you to expand your horizons in ways you never thought possible as you apply the techniques to your personal venture or situation. In addition to being practical for solo brainstorming, some of the methods become even more powerful when used collaboratively. Witness that power first-hand and benefit from in-class collaboration. Some attendees make fast friends, and some have even decided to set up a buddy system for future projects or accountability!
When we bring people together from all walks of life, they can share their personal experiences, ideologies, problem-solving skills, creativity, and thinking patterns to build, reform, and revitalize ideas. When this happens, it's called the Medici Effect. To see why we believe so strongly in this effect, see this article.
Each week, attendees will be introduced to a new brainstorming method, after which the class will work collaboratively through a prompt or through an issue, some of which may be voluntarily offered by an attendee. Afterward, the class will utilize several minutes of class time to add details and depth to their own ventures using the new technique. Next, the class will share ideas and help each other expand their ideas beyond what any one person would be able to come up with on their own.
Attendees will have a space to voluntarily share their work with others and offer constructive feedback inside and outside of class. All weekly meetings are recorded, and attendees will be able to access all class recordings indefinitely, allowing them to recreate the creative process over and over again with new projects in the future.
Online classes meet via Zoom. Students must attend from a laptop or computer (no tablets).
No refunds unless the class is canceled. If a student is unable to complete the class for some reason, they will still have access to the videos. :)
