Fix-It Grammar

Fix It! Grammar is one of the most well-loved grammar methods in the homeschooling community. Due to its effectiveness and ease of use, it is favored by students, parents, and teachers alike. In this program, students take on the role of editor for a faulty manuscript. For the first twenty weeks or so, they will learn new punctuation, homophone rules, and parts of speech. The last ten weeks generally focus on reviewing learned concepts. In addition, each individual exercise (120 total per level) contains a vocabulary word that students will learn within the context of the story they are editing.

Online classes meet via Zoom. All students must purchase their own student books. Please contact your teacher to find out which book is appropriate for your child. Purchase the correct book on IEW's website. You will not need the teacher's guide.

All About Reading or All About Spelling

Reading and spelling skills affect almost every other subject. Let us help you find and fill the gaps!

AAR and AAS follow a logical progression to introduce new concepts one at a time, always building upon previously learned skills. In addition, the courses are effective in helping older students find and fill learning gaps. Most of our students find these materials easy to learn and master, so they are a good fit for Crescenza's goal of teaching to mastery and "Helping Growth Happen."

New concepts will be introduced at the child's own pace as they master previous material. You may find placement tests on All About Learning's website, which is also a great place to visit if you'd like to learn more about what makes their program so special!

Barton Reading and Spelling

Susan Barton's system of teaching reading and spelling to dyslexic learners is a proven method that will give you the results you've been looking for. If you have any questions, contact us for a free consultation.

Saxon Mathematics

We currently have teachers who are taking Saxon math students in levels 5/4, 6/5, Algebra 1/2, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2.

Saxon mathematics is our preferred mathematics curriculum here at Crescenza Studio and has been for a long time. Our math instructors review every single missed problem with their students throughout the year, teaching every skill to mastery, and the textbooks themselves incorporate a spiral approach so that old skills are never lost.

We always move at your child's pace, and that is why precisely why we are so successful at helping each of our students discover their "math brain."

We recommend that parents purchase used Saxon textbooks on Amazon. Check with your teacher to see which edition they prefer.

Structure & Style (and other comparable IEW courses)

Around here, writing is what we do best! All of our teachers are fantastic writers and enjoy passing the skill to others.

Structure and Style is a highly acclaimed writing method that is beneficial to both reluctant and eager writers, and everyone in between! Susan Barton recommends it for dyslexic students as well.

The organization of material is highly logical and uses the mastery approach: EZ+1. Each lesson introduces no more than one new concept, and students develop facility with that concept before learning a new one. Students refer to checklists throughout so that each student has the tools to achieve 100% on every assignment.

Online classes meet via Zoom, and Google Classroom is where students will find and upload assignments. All students must own their own book for these courses. You may ask your teacher for a direct link to the book on IEW's website.

Innovative Learning Press

Would you like to write and self-publish a book this school year? Connect with us! We use materials from Innovative Learning Press to help you from start to finish. Students will complete 180 Days to Save the World, which is a full language arts program available for 4th-5th (chapter book version), 6th-8th (middle grade version) and 9th-12th (young adult version). Miss Amy has been trained by Sarah Reid, ILP's managing director. We're SO ready to help you start (and complete) your writing journey!

Cost: Weekly 15-minute lessons are $50 per month, but many subjects require more than 15 minutes per week. Please do not purchase any PRIVATE lessons until days and times have been arranged. To connect with us about scheduling or anything else, visit our Contact Us page.
